Why I Run

I run again because it is an excellent compliment to riding, enables me to complete races, and I get to wear out shoes at an accelerated rate compared to walking! In all seriousness, I run for the boost to my mental health it brings and the impact it has on my fitness and health journey. Combining biking and running (and yeah, swimming, too) has had an incredible impact to my overall health and weight loss, bringing me to the point I am now and where I plan to be. The hardest part about running for me is getting passed the initial hurdle of motivation to get out there and do it, and damn does it feel great when you do! Obviously proceed slowly, follow a gradual plan to increase time and distance, and check with your doctor (or some kind of medical person) to ensure you're not going to do more harm than good. Set a goal and get after it! You can do it!
