Pewaukee Duathlon
May 21, 2023 - Pewaukee Kiwanis Village Park, Pewaukee, WI
Run, bike, run is the way to go. There were so many hills on the bike course. The run was awesome, two laps each go that allowed for actual spectating and a lot of cheers and encouragement! Placed 8th in my age group AND got a cool keychain wood award! Technically there were only 8 finishers in my age group, but I still finished! My transition times were a bit on the slow side, I'm working on that, but I felt very confident going from run to bike and bike to run. This format of racing is fantastic and I would definitely recommend giving it a try, heck, I might even join you if you find something near(-ish) to me! I had a lot of fun on this one and really enjoyed running in my full cycling kit, not even kidding! It was very comfortable running in my new GOREWEAR Distance Bib Shorts+ 2.0 and Wattie Ink Team RWB jersey, pockets on the back, its something that should come to more running wear! I do have a set of shorts, also from GOREWEAR (Ultimate 2in Shorts), that have pockets around the entire waistband, they're wild and very comfortable, too.
This event solidified my decision to apply for, and be accepted into, the affiliate program for BibBoards! I test everything with a lot of professional skepticism (pesky accountancy education) and put them through the ringer before I will promote anything, these worked fabulously! Click the link below the slideshow or basically anywhere it say "BibBoards" to check out what BibBoards has to offer and don't forget to use my discount code accounting4cycling to get 20% off your order and I get a small bit of commission from that order, it doesn't cost you anything additional but it helps me fund races and events like this and other content to share with all of you! I appreciate any bit of support, whether its liking, commenting, subscribing, following, or even cheering at a race!
BibBoards Affiliate Link is embedded here. I earn a small commission if you buy, but you also get 20% off! Code is: accounting4cycling
Have you done a duathlon before? How do you think compared to single activity events or to a triathlon? Did I put enough affiliate links throughout the post? Let me know in the comments! Thanks for reading!
Also, any of the affiliate links I have embedded or posted in here do earn me a small commission if you make a purchase. I use the funds from those commissions to continue to make content for this website, my Instagram, and YouTube channel. I really appreciate the support!
